Were delighted to give you a glimpse of the beautiful Choctaw
Casino and Resort in Durant,
OK. This month the new venue has its grand opening and the
key word is grand! If youre
looking for the ultimate weekend getaway, look no further. With
state-of-the-art gaming,
luxurious accommodations and a wealth of dining options, there is
no doubt that this resort
was designed to host the most stylish guests!
Weve dedicated this issue to the National Indian Gaming
Association (NIGA) Conference
being held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As this magazine hits the
stands, Im headed to
the conference to get the latest news in gaming. Ill share
some of the highlights of the
conference in our May issue!
Id like to thank NIGA for their article on common gaming
myths. This terrific piece helps put
to rest some of the misconceptions many of us hear every day.
Theyve addressed everything
from alleged ties to organized crime to how proceeds are
utilized.
Id also like to thank Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr. for
sitting down to answer our Ten Questions
for this issue. Were fortunate to have such gaming expertise
in Oklahoma! Its no wonder
that were rapidly becoming the destination of choice for
gamers. Look out Las Vegaswere
gaining on you!
April is also a time of remembrance in Oklahoma as we pause to
reflect on the bombing of
the Alfred P. Murrah Building on April 19, 1995. Theres no
stronger testament to the strength
of Oklahomas citizens than how we responded to this tragedy.
The Oklahoma City Memorial
is a fitting tribute to those who died, those who survived
and those who were changed
forever.
With Spring comes the spirit of renewal as winter fades,
the hope of a bright future fills the
air. Take a deep breath, smell the flowers and explore our diverse,
beautiful state. Youll find
the best of all things people, food, scenery and
gaming!
Best of Luck,
