We’ve dedicated this issue to the National Indian Gaming
Association (NIGA) Conference
being held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As this magazine hits the
stands, I’m headed to
the conference to get the latest news in gaming. I’ll share
some of the highlights of the
conference in our May issue!
I’d like to thank NIGA for their article on common gaming
myths. This terrific piece helps put
to rest some of the misconceptions many of us hear every day.
They’ve addressed everything
from alleged ties to organized crime to how proceeds are
utilized.
I’d also like to thank Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr. for
sitting down to answer our Ten Questions
for this issue. We’re fortunate to have such gaming expertise
in Oklahoma! It’s no wonder
that we’re rapidly becoming the destination of choice for

April is also a time of remembrance in Oklahoma as we pause to
reflect on the bombing of
the Alfred P. Murrah Building on April 19, 1995. There’s no
stronger testament to the strength
of Oklahoma’s citizens than how we responded to this tragedy.
The Oklahoma City Memorial
is a fitting tribute “to those who died, those who survived
and those who were changed
forever”.
With Spring comes the spirit of renewal — as winter fades,
the hope of a bright future fills the
air. Take a deep breath, smell the flowers and explore our diverse,
beautiful state. You’ll find
the best of all things — people, food, scenery and
